Jason knew Candice's biggest Christmas wish was to remember the past eighteen years. As Thanksgiving approached, Candice retreated further within herself. Spa days and Epic getaways

Owning a salon really doesn’t leave me much time to get pampered. The year you moved to California, you decided we needed a way to get together and relax, so you planned an extended weekend getaway for the two of us. We met in Vegas and spent four days being pampered from head to toe and doing nothing but having fun. I went home exhausted but more rejuvenated than I had felt in years.

We decided we would make it an annual trip. The two of us have taken a train to New York, gone on a few cruises, trips to the Caribbean, made it to Branson, and once, we even stayed at a dude ranch. There was a reason we only went to the dude ranch once.

Over the years, we’ve talked about inviting the other girls to go with us, but we decided we wanted it to be our time as sisters. However, this year, I’ve changed it up and invited a few friends to come along because we’re going back to Vegas, baby, for a whole week. No kids, no husbands, no responsibilities for an entire week. Start working on your stamina now ‘cause you won’t be resting when we get there.

One day some words came to mind, so I wrote them down. Soon the words became sentences, which formed paragraphs, which, in turn, formed chapters. Before long, those words had become a book.

When I'm not reading or writing, I'm a wife, mother, and business owner. I've lived on the Gulf, East, and West Coasts, but as a born and raised Southern girl, my favorite will always be the Gulf Coast. There's just no place like home...
